Vu 4K debloat list
The cleanyourtv list for the Vu 4K disables 12 packages on Google TV: the manufacturer's telemetry, sponsored content rows and preloaded apps you never asked for, plus the stock launcher once the clean home screen is in place. It was tested on a real set by a cleanyourtv contributor.

About this Vu 4K list
Header: Vu 4K (ro.product.model "VU 4K", device lushan, manufacturer HVCL, MediaTek), Google TV / Android 12
(SDK 31), firmware STT2.230929.001.080. Sold in India. About 1.8 GB RAM. Vu's own packages use the com.vt prefix (the same VIDAA/Hisense stack as examples/hisense-smarttv-4k-ffm, with many com.hisense class names inside). Stock launcher: com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx (build-and-install.sh finds and disables it; do not list it here, it must go only after the new launcher is running). Live TV app: com.vt.tv.tvcenter (set it as live_tv_package and hide it in launcher config.xml). HDMI 1-3 and AV come from com.vt.source.external. Already disabled at the factory, so not listed: com.mediatek.tis, com.mediatek.dtv.tvinput.isdbtuner, com.vt.source.tuner. USB debugging alone opens port 5555 (no wireless-debugging pairing needed). With the new launcher, the remote's Input key still opens Vu's own input panel (com.vt.tv.input), so INPUT_KEY_SERVICE is not needed. Tested on the day of the debloat (2026-10-19), not yet lived with for days: two reboots, both normal; HDMI switching from the launcher's Inputs menu (opens com.vt.tv.tvcenter); apps launch from the dock. Do NOT disable com.vt.tv.smartsense, com.vt.tv.smartsense.ui or com.vt.tv.aiot: on the Hisense with the same stack, disabling them sent the TV to Android Recovery on the next boot. Kept on purpose: com.vt.tvservice, com.vt.avmiddleware, com.vt.edv.drmp, com.vt.tv.commonui, com.vt.tv.input, com.vt.tv.videocolor (picture settings), com.vt.eula (consent state other apps read), com.vt.tv.protector, com.vt.tv.customerlauncher, com.vt.udpserver, com.vt.fte, tv.mopa.ginga, com.vt.tv.mediacenter (USB media player), com.vt.tv.dlna, the factory apps (com.vt.factory, com.factory.tv.at, com.at.factory.androidtvaidlservice), com.mediatek.*. Firmware updates left ON: com.vt.tv.ota, com.vt.remoteupgrade, com.vt.tv.usbota. Casting left ON by choice: Chromecast (com.google.android.apps.mediashell), AirPlay (com.mediatek.AirplayAPK, airplaydaemon, partner.airplay_sys, com.vt.tv.airplaykeycheck), Miracast (com.vt.tv.mobiledeviceconnectiontips). Google Assistant (com.google.android.katniss) left ON by choice.
Before you run it: every package below is disabled, not uninstalled. Comment out (prefix with #) any line for an app you use. Never disable the Play Store, Play Services, the on-screen keyboard or the TV input services that play HDMI. Switch USB debugging off when you are done.

Apply the Vu 4K debloat
Turn on Developer options on the TV (Settings → Device Preferences → About → press OK on Build seven times), switch on USB debugging and, if shown, Network or ADB debugging. Then, from a clone of the cleanyourtv repository on a computer on the same Wi-Fi:
export TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 # your TV's IP address
tools/venv/bin/python -I tools/tv.py --probe
tools/disable.sh examples/vu-4k-lushan/debloat.txt Then build and install the clean launcher, which makes itself the default Home and rolls back if it fails:
TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 launcher/build-and-install.sh Prefer to let an assistant do it? Paste the cleanyourtv prompt into Claude Code with "Vu 4K" as the model; it reads this list, checks each package on your TV and asks before anything that depends on your preferences.
Restore the Vu 4K
TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 tools/restore.sh examples/vu-4k-lushan/debloat.txt com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx The restore script replays the state recorded before the change, so Home goes back to the launcher that owned it. More in the restore guide and the Google TV debloat guide.
