How to debloat a Philips TV with cleanyourtv

Philips TVs are built by TP Vision in Europe and by Skyworth or MOKA in other markets, so two Philips sets can run very different software. The cleanyourtv lists cover both European Android TV models and newer Google TV ones.

Before you debloat a Philips TV

Check which platform your Philips set uses (the list headers name it) before picking a starting list; a European TP Vision list will not match an Indian Skyworth-built model.

Packages most Philips lists disable

These package names appear in at least half of the 4 Philips lists, so they are the usual suspects when you debloat philips tv. Always confirm on your own set first.

  2. On a computer on the same Wi-Fi, clone the cleanyourtv repository, or open Claude Code and paste the cleanyourtv prompt with your Philips model number.
  3. Accept the "Allow USB debugging?" prompt on the TV.
  4. Back up the package list, then apply the closest Philips list in small batches: tools/disable.sh examples/<model>/debloat.txt.
  5. Install the clean launcher with launcher/build-and-install.sh.
  6. Switch USB and network debugging off again when you are finished.

Philips TV debloat FAQ

Can I debloat a Philips TV without root?

Yes. cleanyourtv uses Android's debug bridge over Wi-Fi and pm disable-user, which needs no root. On Philips sets it disables telemetry, content rows and preloaded apps, then installs a clean launcher.

Which Philips TV list should I start from?

Pick the list whose codename, chip and Android version match Settings → About on your TV. If none match exactly, the closest platform is a good start; the cleanyourtv prompt checks every package on your own Philips set before disabling it.

Will debloating my Philips TV void the warranty?

Nothing is flashed, rooted or deleted; packages are only disabled in the user profile and can be re-enabled from Settings → Apps or the restore script. Check your own warranty terms if in doubt.

What does a Philips debloat remove?

Across the 4 Philips lists, 81 package entries are disabled in total, mostly manufacturer analytics, recommendation and promo services, duplicate cast or share services, and preloaded apps.

How do I undo the debloat on my Philips TV?

Run tools/restore.sh with the same list you applied. See the restore guide.
