About this Xiaomi Mi TV list

Header: Xiaomi Mi TV (MiTV-MOOQ0, codename croods), Android TV 10, firmware QTG3.200305.006.3270

MediaTek m7632 chassis, 1.8 GB RAM, Android low-RAM mode on. Also applied cleanly on firmware QTG3.200305.006.5135 (Vietnam retail unit, 2026-10): every package here disabled the same, and the "optional, by choice" mirroring/media apps below were additionally disabled (wfdsinkhelperservice, milinkservice, smartshare, mitvplus, videos, youtube.tvmusic, mediaexplorer, videoplayer) with Netflix/YouTube/VieON still playing afterwards. On that unit the remote's Input/Source button sends KEYCODE_MEDIA_RECORD (kernel KEY_RECORD), not KEYCODE_TV, so the launcher's InputKeyService must handle KEYCODE_MEDIA_RECORD for the Input button to open the menu. Kept deliberately, despite names that look like bloat. Checked with `dumpsys package`: com.xiaomi.android.tvsetup.partnercustomizer holds BleRcActivity, the Bluetooth remote pairing com.mediatek.hotkey.dispatcher the remote's hotkey service, including Source com.mediatek.tvinput serves HDMI 1-3, composite AV and the tuner com.mediatek.wwtv.setupwizard the channel tuning wizard for Live TV mitv.service, com.xiaomi.mitv.res core TV service and framework resources Quirk: com.duokan.factorytest also declares the HOME intent, at priority 0, the same as a replacement launcher (the stock launcher sits at priority 2). Disable it and set the home activity explicitly BEFORE disabling com.google.android.tvlauncher, or Home can land on the factory test app. It is in the list below so restore.sh re-enables it. NOTE: com.google.android.tvlauncher is deliberately NOT in this list. launcher/build-and-install.sh disables it only after the replacement launcher is installed and verified as home. Tested on this firmware: HDMI 1-3, composite AV, the tuner, the Bluetooth remote, Gboard, Play Store, Chromecast, Miracast and USB video playback all still work. Notes from a second set on the same firmware (mirhnaz, PR #81): - Live TV (com.mediatek.wwtv.tvcenter) can't be disabled even if you never use the tuner: its TurnkeyUiMainActivity is also the HDMI/AV window. Hide it in the launcher instead (hidden_apps). - Before disabling com.mitv.dream, point the screensaver elsewhere: settings put secure screensaver_components com.gathin.tvhome/.ClockDream - After power-on the TV returns to the last source, not the launcher.

Before you run it: every package below is disabled, not uninstalled. Comment out (prefix with #) any line for an app you use. Never disable the Play Store, Play Services, the on-screen keyboard or the TV input services that play HDMI. Switch USB debugging off when you are done.

Apply the Xiaomi Mi TV debloat

Turn on Developer options on the TV (Settings → Device Preferences → About → press OK on Build seven times), switch on USB debugging and, if shown, Network or ADB debugging. Then, from a clone of the cleanyourtv repository on a computer on the same Wi-Fi:

export TV_HOST=192.168.1.50   # your TV's IP address
tools/venv/bin/python -I tools/tv.py --probe
tools/disable.sh examples/xiaomi-mitv-mooq0/debloat.txt

Then build and install the clean launcher, which makes itself the default Home and rolls back if it fails:

TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 launcher/build-and-install.sh

Prefer to let an assistant do it? Paste the cleanyourtv prompt into Claude Code with "Xiaomi Mi TV" as the model; it reads this list, checks each package on your TV and asks before anything that depends on your preferences.

Restore the Xiaomi Mi TV

TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 tools/restore.sh examples/xiaomi-mitv-mooq0/debloat.txt

The restore script replays the state recorded before the change, so Home goes back to the launcher that owned it. More in the restore guide and the Android TV debloat guide.

Xiaomi Mi TV debloat FAQ

Is it safe to debloat the Xiaomi Mi TV?

The Xiaomi Mi TV list only uses pm disable-user, so nothing is uninstalled or flashed. Every package can be turned back on with the cleanyourtv restore script or from the TV's own Settings → Apps page. Apply it in small batches and check the TV between them.

How many packages does this Xiaomi Mi TV list disable?

29 packages, grouped as: ---- Xiaomi telemetry and analytics ----; ---- Xiaomi content, ads and recommendation rows ----; ---- Background services not needed ----; ---- Preloaded apps nobody asked for ---- and more. Comment out any line you want to keep before running it.

Does the Xiaomi Mi TV list work on a similar model?

Often, if the platform matches. Compare the device codename and firmware in the list header with Settings → About on your TV. The cleanyourtv prompt also checks each package on your own set before touching it, so a near match is a good starting point.

Will the Xiaomi Mi TV get the Apple TV-style launcher?

Yes. After debloating, cleanyourtv builds its small native launcher (about 300 KB) and makes it the default Home, rolling back automatically if Home does not land on it.

How do I undo the Xiaomi Mi TV debloat?

Run TV_HOST=<tv ip> tools/restore.sh examples/xiaomi-mitv-mooq0/debloat.txt. It replays the record saved before the change. Full steps are in the restore guide.
